i shape the vocals before putting on distortion so its not emphasizing frequencies i dont like. then i clean it up afterward w more eq the crunch comes from a crusher + tube together. make use of the bits and pregain on crusher. slap a gate b4 everything to cut noise
Also question: How are you recording your vocals to sound distorted without getting earrapey? Example: 2:46 in STUPIDTASK I've tried a lot of different things, but I just don't get how 😭
